Laura Mercier 'Audrey' Lip Créme Review

Firstly, the name of this lipstick is fabulous. I was at the Laura Mercier counter in Nordstrom’s looking for a plum red lip color (similar to Blair Waldorf) and after trying a bunch of swatches on my hand ( and staining my white jeans :| ) I found a color that looked pretty close to what I wanted! I then looked at what it was called and low and behold it’s named after one of the classiest women in history (whom I just so happen to adore), Audrey Hepburn.

The lipstick is called Créme Smooth Lip Colour. I was hoping to find a lip gloss because I wanted to only have to use one product, but in the end I was searching for the perfect color and as the saying goes, ‘Beggars can’t be choosers.’ I would tell the specialists that even though I wanted the end effect to be a shiny lip, what I was really looking for was the perfect color.

I ended up finding this Laura Mercier lipstick that is pretty close to what Blair Waldorf wears. I only use one layer when I put it on because I think it matches more closely when there is less pigment. Then I just put the Mac clear lipglass on top for the shiny look of lip gloss. The lipstick costs $28 and the Mac clear gloss costs $16.
