Makeup Mini Tip for the Gloss Lover

For those of us who enjoy lipstick and lipgloss, we have a slight bone to pick with our lip colors. The fact that every time we take a sip of our drink there is a perfectly shaped lip stain left behind. That not only shouts out to the world that our lips aren’t naturally colored to perfection to match our outfits, but it also has us worried that our lip color has been smeared across our faces.

After doing some research I have only found one good answer and it is almost as easy as salad dressing.
Say what…?
Your non-matte, non-lip stain lip color has a similar composition to that of salad dressing- each has oil in it, making it not easily mixable with water.
Your lipstick and lipgloss doesn’t come off just because your lips get wet, water itself does nothing to lipstick or gloss. Salad dressing that has water and oil in it doesn’t mix well, you tend to shake it up really well before using it.
Well, if you take the surface of your drinking glass and get it wet (i.e. lick it) less of your lip color will come off on the side. I attempted it myself and only a little bit of my gloss came off when I took a sip.
The hard part is licking your glass inconspicuously when out in public. 95% of the time I use a straw because then you don’t have to worry about staining your glass. However the other 5% of the time when I am drinking coffee or wine or I am in a different situation where straws aren’t available, I will have to lick my glass or deal with the gloss stain.
I would love to hear from you all on this topic. What do you do? Do you worry about staining your glass or do you just let it happen? I know there is the matte option, but I would much prefer to wear gloss.

Happy Styling!
